UX Prototypes in Cloud
Various UX Designs and wireframes for products like Data Visualization and User Experience for various clients.
All of these projects were completed for Onica, which is a subsidiary of Rackspace

In addition, I did study for a couple of cloud certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Technical Essentials for Government, AWS Business Digital, AWS Hands-On Rekognition (Ai), Microsoft Azure Ai classes, and GCP Data Engineering, which includes Ai and Machine Learning and Statistics.

Ai Survey and Health Data Lake for Business Intelligence Reports

In 2022, I worked with the Chief Architect on a PoC (i.e. proof of concept) for AWS ReInvent, which consisted of using QuickSight to analyze network data in various visualizations. Then in February 2023, I worked with the Chief Architect and a Data Engineer to create two Business Intelligence Proofs of Concepts, using AWS QuickSight, AWS RDS, AWS Glue and more. The Ai Survey was translated from a powerpoint and Excel to create an interactive report to accompany a PDF document for Executive Leaders in the Ai Space. In this project, I was able to learn about structured data and raw data, and work with both stakeholders to create and experiment with different design concepts, as well as learn AWS QuickSight. The second proof of concept used data from a health lake to show how hospital administrators could effectively pre-treat diseases of construction workers based on demographic data.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Read, write and formatted files in .txt, .xlsx, .csv, .json, .parquet
  • Clean datasets by removing outlier and some NANs
  • Applied SQL principles like JOINs (i.e. inner, outer, etc.)
  • Experimented with statistical models and appropriating them to data visualizations (i.e. shape of data: normal distribution/bell curve, linear/regression, tree)
  • Edited script files in SQL, Python, and R
  • Edited scripts in frameworks such as jupyter notebook with packages like pandas, and R with packages like tidyverse and dplyr
  • Learned the basic programming language to work with big data and fiddled around in AWS QuickSight, Amazon's RDS, Google's BigQuery and BigTable
  • Used Front-end web design and development skills as well as Sketch/Figma/Adobe Creative Suite's Illustrator, and Photoshop, plus HTML, CSS, JavaScript

SSENSE Barcode Scanner

This was a short project, approximately 8 weeks with 4 engineers. We delivered earlier than the expected date, which included gathering requirements, learning their stack and architecture and more. We created the software for the Zebra barcode scanner, which has a smaller screen and runs on just 2 operating screens with the dimensions using responsive CSS of 600px/320px, 480px/240px depending on the resolution. My role was to design the interaction of scanning garment tags with great consideration to speed. I also aided with the CSS/HTML code, interactive prototypes, design and dev QA, and a design report documenting the use cases.

SSENSE Inventory Tracking System

This was also a short project, just 1 week with 10 tickets of their inventory system. Some designs that were delivered included complex embedded tables within a row, CSV hyperlinking and downloads, dropdown states for filters using text, date pickers, single-select, and multi-select options. In each item. They wanted a scalable tracking mechanism that tracked 4 states: General, TAO, TSO, and Purge Information.

VohCom Accounting

This was a modernization project from SaaS to cloud an accounting system in Canada. There were several complex tasks in the SaaS that we simplified, and came up with solutions to their pain points. We also added some newer features, like automated notifications for audits and such. In the gallery, there are screenshots of the older SaaS Interfaces versus the clean and modern design that followed their custom style guide.

Operation Roar: Tracking Sensors Using iOT and OTA Networks for Supply Chains

This was a project to create an iOT API for tracking device sensors in supply chains to help the companies maintain and replace parts before a system or machine breaks down (e.g. refrigeration system), using OTA (i.e. Over the Air) networks. There were several use cases and several flows that aided Product Managers, with no tech experience, to monitor their supply chains.

Medtronics

Over the course of my employment there, I would help Engineers with UX, UI Designs, as well as CSS code, and limited code reviews. This is an example of a report I would create for a medical company.

Onica UI Patterns Reference

For every employer I worked with, I would create a deck, documenting interesting UX, UI and Interaction Design Patterns and would share it with my team, other designers, engineers and product people who were interested in the latest technologies. Here is an example of a deck I created for the subsidiary I worked for at Rackspace.
