As a UX Prototyper, I worked with two Product Managers for MyLabs for Spanish. We worked on wireframes for integration. In addition, I aided them with competitive analysis of Duolingo and other apps that used gamification to teach conversational Spanish. I created two prototypes using two systems. One used Twilio and the ChatBot’s name was “Roomba,” the second prototype used IBM Watson and AT&T’s 5G systems and the name “kTutor.” A couple of weeks later, I also tried to prototype “kTutor” for AndroidTV, which I tried to integrate with Prime Video as a learning channel.

Spanish Roomba

On November 10-11th of 2018, I attended the "SoCal Code Camp LA" at my alma mater, USC to just check out the neighborhood and learn about new technologies. I also met Mr Corey Weathers, an Evangelist from Twilio, who taught me how to get set up and create my first ChatBot, named Roomba, who taught Spanish. I had created a script to teach "Conversational Spanish" in a restaurant setting when I worked with two Product Managers of MyLabs after doing some research on Duolingo's platform and simplifying their navigation based on Instructor interviews. However, in the interest of saving time while learning the Twilio platform, I just simplified the script because I learned that entering inputs required a hub-and-spoke structure.

kTutor ChatBot and kTutor for Android TV

In October 2019, I participated in the AT&T and IBM 5G Hackathon for Mobile and Android TV. Having participated in other group Hackathons previously, I wanted to do this solo, as an exercise in learning programming, front-end development and design. Over, the course of a day, and with the help of IBM Evangelist, Mr Upkar Lidder and feedback from another participant, Ms Liliya Frye -- I came up with kTutor, a chatbot which quizzes the Learner on translation and transcription while they watch Korean dramas on television and uses audio files to teach Korean language. I first created the script, then I programmed the ChatBot in IBM's Watson Assistant. I also participated in Part-Deux of the hackathon, reappropriating the content into Android TV.
